So he tells you he’s not in love with you. He hasn’t been in love with you for a while. And all you can recall is how it felt the other day, being held in his arms, wrapped in the comforters of his bed. Of his legs entwined with yours, as you tell him that you love him. All you can recall is how it felt the week before as he ran his fingers through your hair as you sat on the bench facing the track. All you can recall is him pulling you up onto his lap to hug you tight after you two finished arguing.
And at night, all you can remember is feeling his arms around you as you close your eyes. And in the morning, you’re reminded once again that he isn’t yours anymore. And with that sudden reminder, a flood of sadness overwhelms you.
